SMS 2.0 - Arena Scheduling: An Innovative Approach to High School Scheduling

The purpose of this presentation is to give users an in depth look into Arena Scheduling including the process University High School uses to implement the application. We will take a look at the timeline of events, setup procedures, and registration period. The goal of this session is to provide users an innovative approach to scheduling that is not often used in a high school setting. Participants will acquire tips and tricks on how to fully transform their scheduling process to Arena Scheduling. Not only will we do a thorough review of the application, but we will also unpack all the preregistration responsibilities to help users feel comfortable in making this transition. The intended audience is high school counselors and administrators. This session is not intended to replace the Future Scheduling session, but more so a session designed to help give schools an alternative approach to scheduling outside of the automatic schedule generation process.

How to record detention center stay for students in your district. Responsibilities for schools for attendance reporting - and how to get accurate data from Skyward. Options for ensuring students in a detention center are not counted absent. Review of requirements in state SIS for students with a detention center stay. This session would be best for office and admin staff who are involved with attendance records, courses assignments/ grades, and state reporting.
